Somewhere Blue “Treasure” Box

Somewhere Blue 
5x7 inch acrylic painting on the top of a 3.5 inch tall box. 
Interior fits 4.5x6.5x3 inches. 
 
An underwater photographer captured the silhouettes of some baby sharks swimming over a drift of coral off the coast of Kaneohe Bay, Hawai'i. With permission of course, the underwater scene was interpreted as an acrylic painting meant for a box patiently awaiting to be filled with trinkets. 
 
A chain was installed to keep the box from slamming open, the interior and sides painted a royal sea blue. Varnished with gamvar in a satin finish and sealed for a water resistant finish.
